Jane Merritt, BA'55
Jane Merritt died on March 14, 2026, at the age of 93. She volunteered as a docent at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and was an active community leader. She went on to serve as president of the Junior League of Indianapolis from 1972 to 1974, sat on the Indianapolis Red Cross Board, and led her daughter Jill’s Girl Scout troop. She also contributed to major tennis events in Indiana, editing programs for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Clay Court Championships, the RCA Championships, and the Indianapolis Tennis Championships.

Marilyn Moss, BA'54
Marilyn Moss died on March 3, 2026, at the age of 93. While at IU, she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and sang in the IU Women's Chorus, which merged with the Singing Hoosiers. Later, she was an invited soloist at three Indiana Order of the Eastern Star Grand Assemblies, performing on the historic Murat stage of the National Centre in Indianapolis. Additionally, she sang the national anthem at the dedication of the White County Building in 1976 and produced the dedication keepsake book distributed at the ceremony. Once graduated, Moss gained experience in journalism and public relations. While serving as assistant national publicity manager at TV Guide Magazine, she won a layout and design award from the American Association of Industrial Editors and New York University.
